Volunteer
Like other industry organizations, we depend on our members and supporters to donate their time so that both the organization and the community will survive and thrive. There are innumerable opportunities for you to connect with your peers, beyond our many networking opportunities.
Consider:
- hosting an event or plant tour at your facility
- becoming a sponsor for an event
- mentoring a student, providing a shadowing opportunity, or supporting an intern
- joining us as we make our agenda known in Columbus and Washington
- serving on a WIRE-Net committee or task force
- becoming active in state or national manufacturing associations
- making calls to collect information or welcome new members

WIRE-Net encourages active participation in networking, marketing, and community volunteer opportunities which strengthen relationships among manufacturing and community partners, and helps develop new business, new markets, new talent, and a new image for manufacturing. These are some of the ways in which you can help:
- Hosting networking events
- Host training, seminars, or plant tours
- Sponsor events and programs
- Advocate for legislative policy and/or media
- Serve as liaison to state and local government
- Serve as liason to national, state, and local manufacturing association
- Volunteer during annual appeal
- Serve as a WIRE-Net committee member
- Provide input and participate in School-to-Career programs
- Guest speaker
- Job shadowing
- Internships/co-ops
- Plant tours
- Summer manufacturing camps
- School-to-Career Annual Dinner
Participate in quarterly issue-focused manufacturing company surveys (companies that participate in the survey receive an in-depth summary)
