A strategic plan is much more than just words on paper—it is a document designed to play a vital role for an organization by serving as its road map to future success.

WIRE-Net’s current strategic plan provides clear direction as the organization reaffirms its ongoing commitment to building on one of Cleveland’s most distinctive characteristics: our manufacturing base.

WIRE-Net is implementing the strategic plan’s five clearly-stated result areas:

1. Total Innovation

 WIRE-Net creates the expectation that manufacturers must and will innovate by demonstrating the power of a whole-systems approach to manufacturing innovation by identifying market, human resource, product and process trends, and by building a responsive, accessible network of resources that rapidly moves ideas to production. WIRE-Net will strengthen a healthy manufacturing community with significant and growing numbers of manufacturing innovators in the vanguard.

2. Workforce Excellence

 WIRE-Net is an employer-led intermediary that provides a voice for our industry stakeholders and catalyzes the relationship between industry, education, government, and other resources to ensure a workforce that is ready to positively impact the manufacturing community.

3. Redevelopment Focus on the Urban Core

WIRE-Net leads efforts to redevelop manufacturing properties in the urban core to ensure a healthy tax and employment base, and to provide modern space for manufacturing firms. Building a healthy NE Ohio requires that our largest city also be healthy. Redeveloping Cleveland is smarter and easier working with manufacturing.

4. Manufacturing Action

As a collective voice for business stakeholders, WIRE-Net and other partners and supporters will work closely with federal, state, and local leaders to impact industrial development legislation, policies, and practices.

5. Manufacturing Matters Branding Initiative

WIRE-Net will spark and help lead a campaign to promote awareness of the genius and importance of NE Ohio's manufacturing strength through a marketing campaign focused on WIRE-Net's core initiatives. This campaign will leverage WIRE-Net's relationships, communicate to and inspire our members, business leaders, and key audiences among the general public and policymakers to build on NE Ohio’s manufacturing assets.
