WIRE-Net plans to launch our 2nd HR Roundtable group in March 2012 based upon WIRE-Net’s proven peer-based learning group format. These meetings provide a forum for leaders to discuss major issues facing the manufacturing workplace and ways in which HR professionals can find solutions through community, networking, and peer learning.

Topics tackled in Series I:

  • Dealing with an aging workforce: retention and replacement strategies
  • State workforce policy and funding changes and their impact for manufacturers
  • Performance management and reviews
  • Managing employee benefits
  • Developing/updating your Employee Handbook

Participants like Steve Craig from UniControl Inc. found the format extremely effective: "As a small manufacturer focusing primarily on core product and operational issues, it is sometimes difficult to stay current with ever-changing HR issues including safety, health care, compensation, benefits, and professional development. Roundtables like this offer affordable training and relevant peer-group benchmarking."

You are invited to attend our kick-off event facilitated by Leslie Yerkes to help craft our next series topics that will be timely and useful. You will also hear from a few of our Series I participants and have an opportunity to network with other manufacturing HR leaders. If you have any questions, please call Mark Pinto at 216.920.1960.
