Like your company, WIRE-Net will spend the next three months planning and budgeting for the programs and events that manufacturers want and need in 2012. Nearly 7% of our annual budget comes from our Annual Appeal and dedicated individual donors like you. Your support helps us deliver what manufacturers need—whatever it takes. Over the next few weeks you'll have the opportunity to learn how manufacturers have benefited from the work of WIRE-Net's team. While we're serious about the work we do, WIRE-Net also likes to have fun. Each year WIRE-Net kicks off the annual appeal at our Nuts and Bolts Bash. This year we'll be rockin' the House of Blues. Come enjoy music from bands with ties to local manufacturing (hint: they may work with heavy metal, but the music won't be!) and perhaps bid on one of the amazing auction items (hint: you may get the chance to see how they make heavy metal!). We hope you'll join us on October 27th for an evening of good food, live(ly) entertainment, and great networking with your fellow WIRE-Net members and our sponsors! Best Regards, |

HR Issues: WIRE-Net's Got You Covered |
|||||
|
"As a small manufacturer focusing primarily on core product and operational issues, it is sometimes difficult to stay current with ever-changing HR issues including safety, healthcare, compensation, benefits, and professional development. Roundtables like this offer affordable training and relevant peer-group benchmarking," was what Steve Craig from UniControl Inc. had to say when asked about the benefits or WIRE-Net's HR Roundtable. This peer-to-peer learning group is gearing up for another year of topics. Can you afford not to join? |

Upcoming Events October 19, 2011 October 27, 2011 |
WIRE-Net's Edge: Connecting the next generation of manufacturing leaders Who are the building blocks in your organization? Looking to the future of WIRE-Net, Julie King and Board member, Bruce Waterhouse, attended a BVU “speed-dating” event to meet potential volunteers from a pool of young professionals. From that engagement, WIRE-Net's Manufacturing Edge was formed. Founding Edge volunteers are Ashley Frizzell, Grant Thornton; Bridget Berthelot, ATF; Allison Taller, Benesch Law; and Suzanne Caraballo, Robin Industries. Initially the group will meet quarterly for networking and meeting new friends, and slowly develop programming or activities as the members choose. The first Edge networking event held on Thursday, September 15th at the Market Garden Brewery was sponsored by GrantThornton and attended by 34 young, and not so young, who enjoyed the new Ohio City Brewmaster brews. The next Edge event will be Wednesday, December 7th at the Corner Alley on the corner of Euclid Avenue and East 4th Street, the center of Cleveland's restaurant and entertainment district. Looking ahead to 2012, we're planning some fun at Ray's indoor bicycle park for the more adventurous! Help us get the word out. We want to meet your building blocks, enjoy a beer, and find out how we can work together to improve your business and the state of manufacturing in Northeast Ohio. For more information or to get involved, contact Julie King at 216.588.1438. |
2011 WIRE-Net Annual Appeal Reaching to Raise $211,800 Whatever it takes “Whatever It Takes” could mean just about anything. To us at WIRE-Net, it means that we search high and low to help manufacturers find resources they need to grow their business. You could say that we are “super heroes” for manufacturing firms in Northeast Ohio. Beginning in October you have a chance to be a super hero - to give back or pay it forward, to assist other manufacturing companies and leaders. You will be receiving your personal annual appeal letter outlining how you can meet your charitable giving goals by supporting one or two WIRE-Net initiatives. Our most important new initiative, Leaders in Giving is a select group of individuals who support the work of our organization with personal gifts of $1,000 or more. We are a third of the way to our goal of 25 gifts at this level. And you don't want to miss our signature networking and fundraising event—Nuts and Bolts Bash, on Thursday, October 27th at the House of Blues. This event kicks off our annual appeal and all proceeds support our manufacturing assistance programs and our collective voice for manufacturers in Northeast Ohio. It is not too late to sponsor this event – contact Julie King at 216.588.1438.
