WIRE-Net - Strategic Plan

WIRE-Net’s strategic plan is designed to play a vital role for an organization by serving as its road map to future success. Our current plan provides clear direction as the organization reaffirms its commitment to building on one of Cleveland's most distinctive characteristics: our manufacturing base. The core elements of this plan were developed in May 2005, utilizing the Appreciative Inquiry method. Over 100 stakeholders participated in our manufacturing summit.

While WIRE-Net will continually adjust work plans, and adapt to changing conditions, our Core Strategy remains the same through the end of 2008:

Maintain high/improved Days of Service & Unique Companies Served to staff ratios.
Maintain & Improve Personalized, Responsive, Quality Service
Grow the Membership Develop and Measure Total Revenue, Earned & Contributed Revenue
By 2008 secure a headquarters that plays a catalytic redevelopment role in an urban community.
Serve more firms across Cleveland, by working with our Board and partner organizations, and by 2008, expand our services into new urban areas.

KEY INITIATIVES

Total Innovation - WIRE-Net creates the expectation that manufacturers must and will innovate by demonstrating the power of whole systems innovation that impacts the total mfg organization: identifying market, human resource, product and process trends, and building a responsive, accessible network of resources that rapidly moves ideas to production.
Workforce Excellence - WIRE-Net is an employer-led intermediary that provides a voice for our industry stakeholders and catalyzes the relationship between industry, education, government, and other resources to ensure a workforce that is ready to positively impact the manufacturing community.
Focus on the Urban Core - WIRE-Net leads efforts to redevelop manufacturing properties in the urban core to ensure a healthy tax and employment base, and to provide modern space for mfg firms. Building a healthy Northeast Ohio requires that our largest city also be healthy. Redeveloping Cleveland is smarter and easier working with manufacturing.
Manufacturing Action - As a collective voice for business stakeholders, WIRE-Net and other partners and supporters are working closely with Federal, State, and Local leaders to impact industrial development legislation, policies, and practices.
Manufacturing Matters Branding - WIRE-Net will spark and help lead a campaign to promote awareness of the genius and importance of NE Ohio’s manufacturing strength thru a marketing campaign focused on our Initiatives. This campaign will leverage WIRE-Net’s relationships with and communicate to and inspire business leaders, key audiences among the general public and policymakers to build on our manufacturing assets.
