Edward G. Weston is director of WIRE-Net’s Great Lakes Wind Network™, a Cleveland-based, industry-led organization of manufacturers and suppliers whose mission is to serve the needs of the rapidly expanding wind market by growing the wind industry supply chain.
Background
Ed joined WIRE-Net with more than 20 years of experience as a senior executive in manufacturing with several Cleveland area companies – including serving as:
- Director of new product development for Ultra Electronics-Audiopack; which manufactures rugged communications equipment for first responders
- Chief operating officer of Thermagon, a manufacturer of high-end thermally conductive materials designed for the electronics market
- General manager of Hinkley Lighting, which makes high-end lighting fixtures
- A variety of sales, marketing, operations positions throughout the US and Canada with Avery Dennison, which provides pressure-sensitive technology and self-adhesive solutions
Throughout his career, Ed has demonstrated proven results growing sales, profits and people through his strong leadership and ability to engage others in change management. He has successfully led three turnarounds and two green-field start-ups. Ed graduated with distinction from the University of Illinois with a B.A. in Economics and holds an M.S. in Industrial Relations from Krannert School of Business at Purdue University. Ed retired as a Captain following a 20-year career in the U.S. Navy.
