Role with WIRE-Net

Jessica Walker is WIRE-Net’s Intake & Assessment Coordinator. She recruits and assesses job seekers for our WorkSource placement program. Jessica networks with community organizations to ensure that employers and job-seekers are aware of available workforce development resources and coordinates with the Job Placement & Retention Coordinator to ensure employer needs are met.

Background

Jessica came from the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission’s Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation where she was a counselor for approximately six years. She assisted individuals in the process of obtaining competitive employment as well as achieving independence in other areas of their lives by collaborating with community agencies and resources. Part of the process entailed determining limitations, strengths, vocational interests, barriers, and skills in order to assist the individual with pursuing and retaining employment. She obtained her Master of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling from Kent State University and is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
